Responsibilities of the tenant

The tenant has the responsibility to treat the rented home with respect, and will take responsibility for any damage which he/she or any member of his/her group causes.  In case of damage, the loss will be charged to the tenant´s credit card.

When nothing else is specified between the tenant and Rent.is or the owner, the tenant has a duty to leave the home in a clean and presentable state. The tenant has a duty to wash up, empty fridge and dustbin before departure.  Cleaning is included in the rental price if nothing else is stated.

The tenant is responsible for personal and physical damage during the rental period for which he/she already is – or can be – insured for personally. The tenant has a duty to ensure that him-/herself and any accompanying persons do not bother or annoy neighbors to the holiday home or surrounding area. Should the tenant or accompanying persons behave in an inappropriate and unacceptable manner, Rent.is or the owner reserve the right to annul the rental agreement immediately and without any warning. Should this situation arise, Rent.is nor the owner has no obligation to repay any part of the rental price.



Responsibilities of Rent

Rent.is liability is limited to damages and or losses caused intentionally or by negligence. Rent.is is not liable for any extraordinary circumstances caused by reasons that can not be influenced such as changes in weather, flight problems or volcanic activity etc. or any conditions which may reduce the enjoyment of your holiday. Rent.is is not responsible for failures or breakdown of any of the home's installations, for ex. blocking of drains and sewage systems or for the presence of insects or other pests. In the interests of future developments, we reserve the right to make amendments without prior notice.



Cancellation

Cancellations are accepted only in writing by e-mail to rent@rent.is

20% + VAT of the total rent is a non refundable service fee.  The remaining 80% is subject to us being able to re-let the property.  We do advice, therefore, that you take travel insurance to cover this eventuality.  If we can not re-let the property we will charge the remaining 80% of the rent from your credit card.   Please contact us asap if you need to cancel a confirmed reservation.  We will try to assit both parties as possible.

Payment

Generally Rent charges 20% non-refundable confirmation & service fee (+ VAT)  upon confirmation of  bookings.  The amount is deducted from the tenant´s credit card and an e-receipt is sent to the tenant via E-mail along with all information about the rented accommodation and contact information about the owner. The remaining 80% of the total rent is paid directly to the owner, either upon arrival or via bank transfer before arrival. In some cases owners request a full payment upon confirmation. Rent will send tenant further information about payment when booking is confirmed.

Disclaimer

Rent is not liable for any acts or omissions by accommodation owners.   If however, the owner should for some reason change a confirmed reservation we will do our best to help him find a substitute accommodation of same or similar value and location.

Rent does not accept liability for any loss or damage caused by events beyond its powers ("force majeure") : such events include bad weather/storms, fire, flood, civil disturbance or industrial action (strikes).

Rent always tries to give accurate prices, schedules and other collected information. We cannot be responsible or accept any liability caused by or arising from, omissions, errors, price changes etc. Rent serves the right to make all necessary changes to quoted prices at any time and without prior notice.
